Day 7

Worked from 11-7:30 today. The Commissary closes at 5:00 on Sunday, but we stayed late doing price changes. I forgot that I had to work that late today and since the gym closes at 7:00 on Sunday, I did not get to go. That's okay. I'm gonna get up and do my Walk Away the Pounds here in just a minute. So what if it's after midnight, lol!

Weigh-in day is tomorrow and I can't wait to see how much I've lost. Tomorrow will also mark one whole week of NO beef and NO pork. I've eaten nothing but fish, chicken, and turkey. That is a great feat for me! I've also been on track for one whole week and haven't even thought about cheating. I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!!!

Didn't eat enough calories again today. It's so funny that before I started couting calories I bet I could eat as many as 5,000 a day. Now that I'm counting, I'm finding it kinda hard to get all of 'em in. Oh well, I'm off tomorrow and I'm sure I won't have a problem eating all of 'em then!

We found out today that we may have to get rid of our pittie. OMG, I pray to God that we don't. One of the dogs here on the Base bit someone. It was all the person's fault. Stupid people. Because of that, they are banning unregistered Pit Bulls from the Base. That wouldn't be so bad if the hubby hadn't forgotten to register Champy when we first got him. He's gonna go Tuesday and see if he can get him registered and just pay the penalty for late registration. If we have to get rid of our doggie we are going to be EXTREMELY heartbroken. First Rockie gets sick and now this. *Sigh*

Alright, well it's time for me to get up and get movin! The hubby's in bed snoring his butt off so I'm not worried about waking him up, lol!

Day 6

Worked from 10-6:30 today. Another BUSY day because of the case lot sale. Good day foodwise, although I didn't eat enough. Still managed to go over my protein limit because of dinner. My dinner plans were changed at the last minute. I went over to a friend's after work and got back home much later than I'd originally planned to. By the time I got home it was too late to cook, so I sauteed up a couple chicken breasts and had a nice tossed salad. It hit the spot!

Had the day of from exercise. Actually, I could've worked out. Even though the Commissary was busy AND I worked longer today than yesterday, I wasn't as tired today as I was yesterday. I'll be right back at it tomorrow, though. I've got to go to the gym a littler earlier, as the close at 7:00 and I don't get off work until 5:30. I'll have just enough time to run home and change before I'm out the door.

Day 5

Worked from 12-6:30 today and it was a KILLER! I work at the Commissary here on the Base and today we had a case lot sale! LOTS of lifting of heavy boxes and containers. I got home and was POOPED! So pooped, that I did not workout today. Because of that I think I'll make Fridays and Saturdays (case lot sale continues tomorrow) my 2 off days each week. I know I got quite a bit of a workout with all that bending and lifting today. Case lot sale + military pay day + military down day + holiday weekend = sheer madness ALL day!

I went over my alloted calories and carbs today. Not because of how much I ate, but because of what I ate. We ran out of the Fiber One chewy bars that I always have for brekky, so I had to have a bowl of Raisin Bran Crunch. That, plus the milk, tacked on some extra carbs, protein, AND calories. Oh well, at least now I know what to eat when I need to make up some ground in those areas, lol!

I'm really not too concerned with going over my calorie allowance because I'm really not going by MFP's recommended allotment. I set my own at 1,500. The last time I checked, MPF had me somewhere around 1,700 - and that's WITHOUT exercise! I may just switch over to MPF's recommendation. Right now I'm just experimenting and feeling things out

Day 4

The hubby took Rockie to the vet today. No heartworms!!! Actually, they don't know what's wrong with him. The vet said that she saw some eggs in a poop sample she did, but it was nothing to be concerned about. They did bloodwork and xrays on his tummy . We will hear the results of those tests on Tuesday. Hopefully, they will tell us a little more about what's going on with my doggie. Meanwhile, he's on antibiotics and we're to to feed him whatever he wants to eat...and a LOT of it. He needs to gain some MAJOR weight.

Another good day both food and exercise wise. Working DEFINITELY helps keep me from nibbling all day. I was so busy that I didn't have time to get munchy. I work every day from now until Monday, so hopefully I'll get a chance to get out of that bad habit. Didn't get a chance to go to the gym tonight, but I did do my Walk Away the Pounds video. GO ME!

Day 3

Today was a good day! I did have the munchies all day, though. I work tomorrow from 12:30 to 7:00 so I won't have a chance to sit around the house and nibble all day. While I nibbled on semi healthy-ish foods, I still need to get a handle on it.

One of our dogs (Rockie - the Lab) has a vet appointment tomorrow. We have no idea what's wrong with him, but something's DEFINITELY wrong. He woke up limping one morning for no good reason...from what we could see. When we went to bed the night before, he was fine. As I said, the next morning he was limping and had no energy or appetite.

A couple days passed and the leg got better and his appetite returned a little. Rockie is a VERY spoiled dog, food-wise and will only eat certain foods...mainly ground meat, rice, and vegetables or in other words-human food. We had started to break him of that and he had even started to eat certain brands of dog food...that is up until that night. After seeing him start to lose weight from not eating the new dog food he liked, I decided to go back to feeding him ground beef and rice.

Well, that didn't stop the weight loss at all. He is getting VERY thin-so thin that we can see his spin and his ribcage! Plus he hardly has any energy. He and our other dog Champ (Pitbull) used to play all day and night. Now, Rockie just doesn't want to be bothered anymore. All he wants to do is lay around and sleep in Champs kennel all day.

I've been reading about heartworms and I hope to God that he doesn't have them. I am so angry at myself for not getting him on the heartworm prevention medicine.

Anywho, tomorrow hubby's taking him to the vet while I'm at work. I'll be anxiously awaiting the phone call to see what the problem is.

Oooookay, back to my day. For exercise, I ended up going to the gym. I thought I might've had to do one of my Walk Away the Pounds vids, but my hubby got home time enough for me to go. I did 23 minutes on the stationary bike and 30 minutes on the treadmill. I'm pooped!

Day 2

Yesterday morning, I read about metabolic typing. I took the test and found out that I am a balanced oxidizer. This means that I would lose and feel better eating a variety of foods. The ideal macro nutrient ratio for a balanced oxidizer is 40% carbohydrates, 30% fat, and 30% protein. That's TOTALLY doable for me! As a matter of fact, it's pretty much what I've been doing. So glad to see that I'm on the right track!

I bought some Weight Watchers candy today. It's the chocolate and toffee kind. I bit off a smidge just to taste it. It tastes pretty good! I'm much too full to have any more of it today, so I'll put it away until tomorrow.

I was introduced to an AWESOME site yesterday (thanks Leela!!!) called My Fitness Pal (www.myfitnesspal.com). There's a place to log my food and exercise, monitor my weight/measurements, and more. There is also a good message board type support system in place. I'm spending a great deal of time over there. I'm really LOVING it! Here's the link to my page if you're ever in that neck of the woods: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/lovelylady1977

I've decided to change my weigh in day to Monday. Thursday just seemed so odd. So, I won't be weighing in until next Monday.

I managed to finally get around to exercising...for two days straight! Yesterday, I walked my dog for about an hour and today I went to the gym and did the stationary bike for 15 minutes and the treadmill for 30 minutes. GO ME!

Here was today's menu:

Snack: 2 cups cubed watermelon

Water: 107 oz.

Day 1 - Starting Weigh-In

Starting Weight: 299
Current Weight: 299

Well, I'm coming out of the gate at a whopping 299 pounds. I'm not worried, though, because I know that this is THE last time I'll EVER see that number on the scale. I'll be weighing in once weekly (every Monday)...that is until I get aggravated with it. Then, I'll be weighing in once every two weeks or even monthly.

Be back later with more!

Tomorrow's the day!

Well, tomorrow I'll be giving this weight loss thing ONE more shot. I've tried many diets in the past: Weight Watchers, South Beach, Michael Thurman's Six Week Body Makeover, Atkins, etc. I had some great success with a couple, but it never seemed to last for long. This time around I want something lasting that I know, without a doubt, that I'll be able to stick with for the long haul.

Sooo, what I've decided to do is go back to calorie counting. I will NOT be restricting any foods or food groups. However, I will be focusing on making healthy choices 90-95% of the time.

I will be listing my food and exercise here in my blog each day, as I find it keeps me accountable. I will get a starting weight in the morning and it's on from there!
